The following is the result of the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase, of £1975, four miles and 856 yards:— Grudon, bh, by Old Buck—Avis ... 1 Driunrie, b h, by Royal Meath — Connie ... ... ... 2 Buffalo Bill, eh c, by Master BillEtna ... ... 3 The New Zealand horse Levanter (by Captivator — Steel All), started favorite at 5 to 1 against. . . March 30. Levanter finished fourth in the Grand National Steeplechase. His jockey mistook one of the fences in the blinding snowstorm which raged during the race. Nine horses fell, and nine finished. The betting against Levanter at the s.tart was 5 to 1. . Prior to starting in the race several of the jockeys asked for a postponement of the race. The stewards, however, decided the course fit.
