COLLIE DOG TRIAL.

The dog trial was continued at Meadowbank yesterday, two of the programme- events being disposed of. The results are:—

Class No. 1. —Heading and Bringing Back, about 500 yards. First prize £8, second £3, third £1. Total points, 30.

A. Watson's Speck 22 pts ... 1 H. Eves' Jim 21 pts ... ... 2 T. Flower's Rob 20 pts ... ... 3 Class No. 2.—Heading, Bringing Back,

and Yarding ; about 400 yds. First prize £6 and Mr Jas. Lillien"s prize of one pup (value £5), second £3, third £X Total points, 30. H, Collins' Flo 21 pts ... ... 1

E. West's Cloud 10 pfcs

M. McKenzie's Clyde 18 pts

The Shepherds' Race, prize £2, was got off. The "course" was up to the top of the hill, the result being: — West 1, H. Eves 2, J. Watson 3.

The weather yesterday was particularly fine, arid the attendance was encouraging to the Association. The officials did their work thoroughly, Mr A. Mowat being a popular Secretary. Mr G. Seymour's assistance in granting the use of the ground on which the trial is being held was greatly appreciated by the Association.

The Huntaway competition will be finished to-day, and the special prizes will beawarded. Among the " specials" is a watch, valued at ten guineas, which was donated by Mrs W. L. Clifford and will be presented to the owner of- the successful dog in the Huntaway contest.
