FAR WORSE THAN ANTICIPATED. fURITKD PBKSS AHHOOUTIOV.I Received June 18, 9.5 a.m. London, June 12. Lord Curzon cables that the famine is far worse than that of 1897. The Indian Government is supporting 15 per cent, of the population of British-India, and 6 per cent, of the population of the Native states. It is anticipated that the Government will have to spend £9,000,000 m relief.
