ftJNITKD PREBB ABBOOIATIOR.] Hongkong, June 10. The "Boxers" have burned the Russian chapel at Tung-ting-an, thirty-five miles north of Pekin. The French Consuls at Mong-tse and Yun-nan-fu have been compelled to leave their posts, the Viceroy being unable to guarantee their safety. The Tsung - li . Yamen (Chinese Board of Foreign Affairs) will not permit a train conveying foreign marines to leave Tientsin for the purpose of repairing tho railway. Mr Conger, American Minister at Pekin, reports that the destruction on the railways is still being carried on, and is encouraged by the inertness of the Chinese troops. In his opinion it is neceßsary that foreign troops should be directed to protect the line. Washington, June 10. The United States Government is willing to co-operate with the other Power 3 m restoring order, but insists upon maintaining its right of independence of action m regard to its general policy m China.
