THE NEW CLAUSE. fONITBO FBEBS ABBOGUTIOR.] London, June 8. The Hon. A. Deakin (Victoria) states that the new clause added to the Commonwealth Bill on the suggestion of the Eight Hon. J. Chamberlain with regard to appeals- is intended to apply to all suits, whether private or public- It is probable, he says, that the clause will be redrafted. Brisbane, June 9. The Hon. J. R. Dickson, Queensland's member of the Federation Delegation, has cabled from London that the effect of the proposed amendment of the Commonwealth Bill is not understood. He invites the Government to express 'an opinion as to the form m which it would like to see the amendment altered if any alteration is made.
