GENERAL BULLER'S RETIREMENT. THE FIELD "MARSHALL AT THE MODDER. The Agent-General cables to the Premier as follows :— London, February 12. General Bullet's retirement was caused by inability to make entrenohjnents on Vaal Krantz, and the exposure of the position to the Boer guns. Boers are plundering m Zululand. Lord Roberts is at Modder River, but nothing is known of his plans of operation. . The Bushmen Funds subscription received at this office amounts to over £1000.
