THE WOOL SALES. [tJNITBD PBBBB ABBOOIATIOH.] London, December 11. The wool sales closed fully 5 per cent above opening rates. Melbourne, December 12. Prices for greasy and crossbreds have been well maintained. Greasy sold at 16d and crossbreds at 15|d. London, Deoeinber 12. The wool sales have closed. Compare^ with the October sales merinos and fine oross-breds advanced 20 per oent ; medium and lower crossbreds, 20 to 80 percent; slipes, 15. to 20 per cent ; merino lambs, 15 to 20 per ceent; and crossbred lambs, 25 per cent. During the sales 45,000 were purchased by home buyers, 49,000 by Continental, and 4000 by American buyers. Five thousand bales were held over.
