OMAKA ROAD BOARD.
* The monthly meeting was held yesterday, there being present : Messrs Litohfield, Tapp, Rose, and Jackson. Mrs Brydon, owner of section 91, Omaka, gave notice that she would hold the Board responsible for all damage she may sustain owing to the erection of protective works m or near the bed of the Omaka River, on or close to her property. It was resolved to ask Mrs Brydon to consent to the work already accomplished on her property, and to allow the Board to ha\e access to the property and continue the banking. The Lower Wairau River Board asked to be supplied with an amended soli for the purposes of their loan proposal. It was resolved to supply an . amended roll. Mr Arthur Blick and Jesse Blick were granted permission to cut a ditch alongside the Old Renwick Road. The Secretary was instructed to confer,with Mr Adams, Oommiesicner of Grown Lands, with regard to the erosion under the Omaka sill, and make arrangements for protective ■work. It was resolved to call for tenders for cleaning and forming Agincourt Street from the Middle Road to Olyde Street (about 9 chains), an application for repairs having been received from Mr T. Gleeson, Renwiok ; also to call for tenders for 20 chains of gravelling on the road to A. Farmar's place, half the cost of the work to be defrayed by the Spring Greek River Board ; and tenders for forming the road m front of Mr Jones' place. It was resolved that Beatson's road, near Farmar's, be rounded up and re-formed. The action of the Inspector m re pairing Casey's culvert onthe Middle Road was confirmed. It was resolved that two rows of wattling be put m on the west bank of the Omaka, that the Gibson's Greek fords be repaired as soon as the Waihopai Overflow is stopped ; that notice be given that all rates outstanding after the November meeting will be sued for. A number of alterations were made to the valuation roll, Accounts were passed for payxnent, A discussion, took place on the subject of conserving the Fairhall River, but no resolution was passed.
