Another heat wave passed over many of the country districts, the record ranging from 100 to 117 degrees m the shade, while at Ungare 120 was registered. Perth, February 2. Carpenters have struck for an increase of wages to 12s per day. About forty firms are affected. Hobart, February 2. Southern Tasmania defeated the Queensland cricket team by nine wickets.
