RIFLING A POST OFFICE.
\ 4 [DRITBD PBBBB ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, May 6. Last night an attempt was made to rob the Post Office at Coromandel. Everything of value, including stamps, registered letters, and cash, had been locked up m a safe, to open which an unsuccessful attempt was made m the office. Packets of letters were torn open, but so far it is impossible to say if any were taken. An entrance was effected at the back door, a pick being used to force the door lock. The pick was found this morning behind a black-smith's shop, with the point broken.
