The Spanish cruiser Sanoez Baredisteze. 935 tons, came into collision with a steamer at the entrance to the harbor of Havannah, and was wrecked. Thirty-four were drowned, including several officers, and 116 were saved. Havannah, September 20. Tbe collision was due to the extinction of the side-lights of the steamer which struck the warship, owing to the electric engine being stopped m order to extricate a sailor who bad got entangled m the machinery. The cruiser's b filers exploded and she sank m four minutes. An admiral was amongst those drowned. „____________
