INTERCOLONIAL.

FIRE ON A MAIL STEAMEB. [UNITED PBBBB ASSOCIATION.] Melbourne, Aug 10. The fire on the steamer Orient is assuming a serious aspect. The bunker where the outbreak occurred is leaking, and is unable to hold sufficient water to quench the fire. It is feared the walls of the bunker will crack, and let the fire spread beyond control. [There is evidently a previous cablegram relating to the fire mis* siDg.] Melbourne, August 11. The fire in the Orient was soon subdued after the door between the watertight compartment, which bad left open and allowed water to escape, was dosed by a diver. Most of the cargo in the forehold was destroyed, and the internal fittings of the vessel much imaged.
