SYDNEY SHEEP SALES.
[united fbbsb absooiation.] = Sydney, July 12. At the sheep sales to-day, with one or two exceptions ridiculous prices prevailed. A large number of sheep were purchased for butchering. The remainder of yesterday's catalogue were offered. Menlove's hundred Lincoln rams, passed yesterday, and forty of Threlkeld's, similarly treated, sold privately at above the auction average through prices not being disclosed. The results of to-day's auction sales were : — Threlkeld, one Leicester ram 1 J guinea ; Hall, of One Tree Hill, 12 Shropshires at £1 14s Id Canterbury, 40 Shropshires 1£ guinea each ; Burrows, of Wairarapa, 16 Lincoln flock rams 8s each, m Bomney class sold six rams at average of £10 6s each, and six ewes at average of £Q 23 6d. Burrows sold 42 rams at average of 8s each ; R. McRae, of Richmond, sold 25 rams at average of 8s each, and 47 ewes at average of £1 18s. Death, of PahauKid Gloves.— Just received 52 dozen Ladies Four Button Kid Gloves m perfeot oondition, m fawns, brown?, and blacks. By oleating the whole line for oaab we are able to sell them at la lid, not to be bad elsewhere under 4a 6d. The arotio or antarotio weather we have experienced this week has created a big demand for winter furs. We have just reoeived from Auckland a wholesale etook of Furs, m sables, black squirrel, chiachella, beaver ; m fur boaß, pelleringee, collarettes. We are selling at 1b lid, 2s lid, 4s lid, 63 lid eaab. These are the teal animal furs named, and are well worth from 10s 6i to 30a. tanui sold 10 rams at average of £8 9s, and 10 ewes at average of £1 14s 6d. Allan, of Clareville, sold seven rams at £ of a guinea, and 15 ewes at 1£ guinea each. Duncan, of Southbrook, sold 14 rams at 9s each, these concluded the catalogue m this class. The last sale of the series then began. Of Lincolns, Goodfellow of Teawamutu, sold 53 rams at an average of a guinea each, and 10 ewes at a guinea each ; Rutherford got rid of 35 rams at average of 10s 6d each, and 50 rams at average of f of a guinea ; Hall, of One Tree Hill, 58 rams at average of 12s 3d each, and 17 ewes at a guinea each : Hosking, of Waiuku, 20 rams at average of 15s 4d each ; and Healy, of Waiuku, 34 rams at average of 15s lOd each; May, of Mount Roskill, 22 rams at average of 13s 4d each ; Thomas, of Otahuhu, 81 rams at average of 14s 3d each. Seddon, Threlkeld, and the New Zealand and Australian Companies' lots passed. Threlkeld's Leicesfcers also passed. The series begin again to-morrow. The sheep sales again opened badly. Storey, of Waipato, sold two stud Lincoln rams at 4£ guineas each ; 88 Lincoln rams were sold at 10s 6d each. Harris, of Auckland, sold 2^ Lincoln rams at 10s 6d each, and Ovorton, of Canterbury, 30 Leicester^ and Liacoms at 9s 6d each. ______ — — .
