Harper, the prisoner who esoaped from the looal hard labor gaof? some two months ago, and who was captured at Palmerston North on Friday, was brought up at the R.M. Court this moming before Mr Kettle, and sentenced to 9 months' imprisonment m the Wanganui gaol. The prisoner made a statement to the effect that his escape was the result of bad treatment m RRol, but the Bench held this was not borne out by factß. _____«—.
