Owing to the manner m which the cable is slowed operations for laying the cable will begin from New Caledonia, and the steamer Francois Arago will sail for Noumea on Saturday. Sydney, April IS. A military tournament, which it is believed will be the best ever held m the j colodv, is being arranged for October 12 and 13 The competition is to be open to all colonies.
