The weather was again threatening, and the attendance suffered by this to some extent, but as on the first day there was a goodly number of ladies. The arrangements were again very good, and the stewards attended well to their duties. There were several cash betters on the ground, and tie Con»mi««e bad to interfere with them. From a fair start Flywheel and Manawanoi, led, bat at tha first hurdla the first mentioned swerved considerably, and after passing the Btasd lay last. At tha top of the course Boison went Dp and tackled Marksman, and juit about opposite the stand Kohai went iato the frost ranks and the race than lay between these three. At th 3 last jump Boison had a long lead, and won by several lengths. Time 3min 2seo. Totalisator £129, 22 on the winner, Dividend £4 3a. Waibatj Plats, of 75 soya ; second horsa to receive 5 soys fram the stakes. Threequarters of a mile. 38 N. Nathan's Stockfish (Piscatorious —Lacteal) Bged, Bat2lb (Fusgard) 1 19 E. Halward's Kent, 3yrs, 7st 91b (Kingan) .. .. ..2 82 E. Cutts' Awarna Rose, 4yrs, 83 1 131 b (Uafthews) 3 All started, and after several attempts owing to Leo, the starter got his field away well. The race was a good ona, and the horses kept well together. Kent at one time looked dangerous, and Awaraa Rose also seemed to have a good show, but the dißtanca was evidently too Ehort for him. Won by a length, the second and third horses being close together. Time, lmin 19 1- sth sec. Totalisator, £262; dividend, £6 28. Hack Flai Handicap, of 20sovs. One mile and a quarter. 119 Hira Parata's Primus {Natator — Day Dawn) oyrs (Kingan) 7st 71b .. 1 30 J. E. Pilbrow's Flywheel aged (owner) 9st 2 38 E. McArtney's Langley th 9 Devil syrs (Galbraith) 9st 31b . . • . 3 From a eplendid start Primus got into the first position and held it the whole way, Flywheel and Langley making the running, tha first mentioned looking all over a winner for a considerable distance, but despite a determined effort by both of the stable horses, Primus won by several lengths. Time, 2min 20 2 sth sees. Totalisator, £238 ; dividend, £1 153.
