In the aotien brought by Clara Parker against Joseph Clarke, claim £10,000 damages, the defendant denied he had any part is the woman's abduction, bat admitted he had lent two pouads to a man who informed him he had taken her away. The money was merely givea as an aat of charity. Olarke aho admitted he had paid Mrs Parker's hnsband £1000 m consideration of not attaohing him as co -respondent to divorea preaecdiaga. The jury returned a verdict of £1,250 with oosts.
