Jubilee Singeks. — This evening Mr McAdoo will introduce for the first time to a New Zealand audienca Miss Rnola Saunder3, who will favor. us with a recitation entitled "Asleep on the Switch." ftiiss Gibbons will make her last appearance on the stage, after five years travelling with tha Jubilee Minstrels, and m addition to her share of the choruses will sing, "The Song that reached my Heart," and we are Bure that this favorite singer will do the song, which is full of pathos, full justice. Miss Gibbons, we understand, leaves shortly for her home m Virginia, and we understand is likely to follow the example oic her old colleague Miss Mattie Lawrence, who wa3 one of the most talented members of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, and who is now living near London, and enter into the same kind cf bond that she and Mr McAdoo have done since last m the colony. Oue of the principal features of to-night's performance will be an imitation of the Garrison Band, and a number of the most popular and newest of their choruses will be rendered by the company. Mr McAdoo will sing " A Hundred Fathom.3 Deep," a Bong which Mr W. H, Judo, the composer, has m&de popular throughout the colonies. Mr Hodges will render "The Old Brigftdfi," Mr Collins will sing a pathetic clave song entitled, " Mother, is Massa going to sell me to-morrow," and Mica Carr " The Little Mountain Lad," so that a firstclass programme is provided. Tickets, for reserved and second seats, should be secured early at Mrs Penney's. Omaka ßoad Board. -The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held yesterday, present: Messrs Redwood (Chairman), Parker, Coleman and Houldsworth. Tenders for gravelling Middle Ren wick Road were received : M.Casey, 33sperchain; J. Bubb, 30s (accepted), and Stratford, 33s 3d. Mr R. M'Callum wrote on behalf of Mr J. G. Trevor, owner of section 12, Omaka, asking if the Board will join with tha settlers interested m taking the levels of the Omaka River' and Co-operative Drain, with a viet? of deepening the latter, as a means of relieving the settles from the surplus water. — Consideration deferred until Monday, the Hth, when the Board will visit the locality m company with him. Messrs Colaman and Parker were appointed members of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Messrs Redwood and Parker were appointed a deputation to wait on the Lower Wairau River Board, and request them to supply the material for building a flood-gate at Mrs Horne'a bridge, the settlers themselves having promised to provide tha labor, It was resolved that notice be given that all rates owing on Ist January, 1893, be sued for.
