He considers the French coast m the event of war would be at the mercy of the Triple Alliance, but 13 of opinion the differential tariff has weakened the adhesion of Italy.- He asserts that the British Empire is vulnerable at every point, and proceeds to say tbat the French arms and power are unrivalled, and will play a formidable part m next war. The share France will take is unknown, but M. Lockroy declares her military organisation is sufficiently powerful to destroy the whole people of any nation opposed to her.
