A letter received at the Thames from " Mount Zeeban states that the labor market is overstocked. Numbers of idle men are walking about seeking employment. As soon as machinery can be got on the ground there will bo a field for work, but that will not be for some months yet. |Dunedih, October 12. The following gold returns are reported ; —Sew How Big Beach Company, 1490z 13dwt of retorted gold for the fortnight : United Hercules Sluicing, 470z lldwt 15grs ; Hercules No. 2, 590z 7dwt ; Waipori Deep Lead, 30oz 17$dwt ; Upper Waipori, 7oz for two days.
