«. ' - THE LONDON MAEKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, are m receipt of the following cablegram from London, . dated 6th inst : — Wheat — The market is steady, and there is a fair demand. New Zealand wheat f.a.q. is worth c.i.f. to arrive 40s 9d per 4801bs. Average and long-berried are worth respectively 41s 9d and 44s per 4961b5. [united pbess association.] London, October 7. The total quantity of wheat and fionr afloat for the United Kingdom is 920,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,480,000. The debentures of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company are quoted at £100; New Zealand Trust and Loan, £26103. At the wool sales the prices were irregular, bnt were a halfpenny above the lowest prices obtained at the present series. The sales vrhich closed to-day were spirited compared with the July closing. Good merinos were from par to 5 per cent lower ; inferior, from sto 10 per cent lower : crossbreds at par ; faulty sorts, 5 per cent lower. Forty-two thousand bales were -carried over to the next series
