The Marine Court find that the collision between the steamers Gambier and Easby was caused by Captain Prideaux, of the last named vessel not conforming to the regulations to pievp.nt a collision, and that bath Captains Bell, of the Gambier, and Pridsaux were to blame for not slackening apeed when they saw the risk of a collision. Captain Prideaux was ordered to pay £20 costs, and Captain Bell £10. The owners of the Gambier have issued a writ against the owners of the Easby, claiming £25,000 damages for loss of the vessel.
