A gale of unprecedented violence swept over the city yesterday, causing considerable 1 damage. The sea swept over the Esplanade at Sandgate, flooding, the houses to the depth of a foot. Heavy rain has ocourred [ over the colony generally. The Glanmuir and Great Eastern mines at Gyinpie are flooded, and 800 men are rendered idle. ;
