OPEBATIONS FOB MAT.

Flower Garden:— Alteration m the flower garden and shrubbery— such as removal of evergreen shrubs, making new edgings, etc., should be pushed on with all despatch. Anemones, ana" bulbs remaining put of the ground, should be at once put m. 'Divide and replant pansies m a Well-prepared bed —they will make a good show m the spring. Cut back chrysanthemums that have done blooming. Eose cuttings should be put m; they should be of well-matured wood, six or eight inches long, and inserted four or Bix iuobeß deep, leaving only two or three eyes above the surface. : Fruit Garden.— The planting of young trees and the preparation of new ground should be set about vigorously. Bs careful not to plant young trees too deeply, and put strong stakes to them to prevent them from being shifted by the wind. The pruning of gooseberries and currants mayb e commenced as soon as the leaves fall. Attend to raspberry beds. Kitchen Garden. — The preparation of rhubarb beds should be proceeded with. Trench the ground three feet deep, and incorporate with the soil a good supply of well-rotted manure ; also dig m a liberal quantity of manure about the roots of old' plants. Prepare ground for asparagus ; it should be well trenched and heavily manured. Clean refuse off vacant ground, and turn it up rough, to receive early spring crops. Sow cabbage and cauliflower for early planting. - ■
