THE SINKING OF THE BLANCO. [UNITED PBKSS A.SSOCIATIOX.J ■Received April 10.15 a.m. Valpabaiso, April 27. Details of the sinking of the rebel warship Blanco Encalada off Autofagasta show she was attacked by a torpedo fleet, woile she was lying at anchor, and the vessel was destroyed by the Almlrants Lynoh, a torpedo catcher recently built m England, which firsd two Whitehead torpectos. The number of persons on board the Blanco Encalada was five hundred, half of whom were drowned. The ironclad Huascar was also struck by a torpedo. The warship Florence has gone over to the rebels. President Bulmaceda, fearing an attempt to poisoa him, has all meals prepared by his mother.
