At the Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr Beetham R.M., the Lyttelton Times Company, Whitcombe and Tombs, Russell and Willis, Anthony and Sellars, printing firms, were charged under the Factories Act with keeping "young people" at work m hours other than those named m the notices posted m factories. The cases were dismissed as there was nothing m the Act prohibiting "young persons" working overtime.
