THE YEAR'S REVENUE.
(POTTED PBESS ASSOCI&XXOH.) Wellington, January 7. The following are the revenue returns for the nine months ended December 31st : —Customs £1,121,989, stamps £401,184, Post and Telegraphs £39,211, Property Tax £211,468, beer duty £41,615, railway £784,791, registration fees etc. £29,903, marine £14,101, miscellaneous £28,202, territorial £104,597, land fund ordinary sales £85,228, deferred payments £35,739, total including shillings and pence £2,878,033. The actual collections are considerably more than the above figures, as the latter only represent moneys brought to account by the treasury. The accounts for the last quarter of the financial year always contain the largest receipts, because the revenue is telegraphed on the last day from all parts of the colony. The expenditure for nine months is well within bounds, and the Treasury officials anticipate that the financial results of the year will be up to expectation. ■
