[UNITED PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, January 7. A public meeting wai held last nighty to consider the present position of Unionism and its future prospects, the President of the Trades Council m the chair. The municipal speakers were Messrs Datbie and McDonald, Messrs W. Collins and D. P. Fisher. Mr D. P. Fisher advocated doing away with Federation, even to allowing each district to conduct its own affairs, the principle of amalgamation having worked badly. Mr Duthie insisted that wages must be regulated by the prices of commodities.
