LAND OWNERSHIP.
OWNERS OF 5000 ACRE BLOCKS AND UPWARDS. On the motion of Mr Joyce, M.H.R., a return has been prepared, which shows the owners of 5000 acre blocks and upwards m New Zealand. The absentees are given first, then banks, corporations, companies, and firms, and lastly come the names Jof mdi vidual owners. The absentees own 914,260 acres, valued at £1,389,831, on which there are improvements worth £304,188. The following are the Marlborough absentees given m the list : —
