[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.! London, July 1. The weather having cleared up at lunch time, the players were enabled to make a start with the match Australians v. Derbyshire. The former scored 108. Murdoch played a steady innings of 29. The weather still remained some-vhat showery, and the wicket was very soft. Spofforth took 3 wickets for 34 runs. The County lost 1 wicket for 16 runs. Beceived July 3, 12.45 p.m. The first innings of Derbyshire closed for 54; the Australians m the second innings had lost six wickets for 30, when rain put a stop to play.
