NARROW ESCAPE OF BRINDISI MAILS.
A SERIOUS RIOT. [UNITED PBBS3 ASSOCIATION.] Received July 3, 1.30 a.m. London, Ju'y 1. Earl Roseberry will unveil the medallion of the late W. B Dalley on July 17th. The homeward mails via Brindisi had a narrow escape of being lost m an avalanche which overwhelmed the line at Bussoclens. The line was also washed away at Osere, and the passengers experienced much discomfort. Many soldiers and policemen, and one magistrate, were stoned and seriously injured while protecting blacklegs at Leeds. The prospectus of the Western Australian Exploring Company is issued ; capital £20,000. Spofforth plays for the Gentlemen of England against the Players.
