The barque Orion, which left Auckland for London on February 4th, with a cargo of kauri timber has put intp Monte Video, a seaport of South Amerioa, m a leaky condition. The lateat advices report that ( it has been decided to place the vessel m the dock, but it is uncertain whether she would have to discharge any of her cargo. .:•■;.-., Washington, May 2. The House of Representatives has pensioned four hundred and fifty thousand of those who took part m the war, thus absorbing the balance of national surplus.
