VALEDICTORY ADDRESS.

♦ [united press association.] CHrasTcnußcu, May 2. A valedictory address, signed by most of the clergy m the diocese, was presented to Bishop Harper to-day. The address, which was read by the Dean of Christchurch, expressed the veneration of the subscribers for the Bishop's character, and appreciation of his work during his long episcopate. Bishop Harper, who was very rnueh affected, briefly replied, thanking the clergy for the support thoy had always given him, and asking that it injght be extended to Jiis successor.
