TRAGIC SEQUEL TO AN OLD FEUD. [UNITED PEESB ASSOCIATION.] New Yobk, August 15. Mr Terry, barrister, of California, struck Chief Justice Field at the railway station, Lathrap, and Deputy-Marshall Nagle shot him dead. Terry was angry at th'e Judge committing him for contempt m the Sharon case m 1887. : August 16. Terry's purpose was suspected, and Nagle was authorised to defend Judge Field. At the inquest the latter was found j Guilty of shooting, but will probably be. acquitted. Terry's wife was Althea Hill, who claimed to have been married to Senatoi Sharon, and brought a suit against him, which lasted for a considerable time, and excited great interest m California. She threatens revenge for the death of her husband, and has since issued a warrant against Judge Field, whom she accuses of complicity.
