A GOLD MINING SYNDICATE. THE DORIC AT HOBART. Received June 27, 2.5 a.m. Brisbane, Jane 26. A powerful Queensland syndicate has obtained twenty square miles of gold-bear-ing country m Pahang district, Malay Peninsula, which they intend to work. From a ton of specimens the syndicate • " has obtained 102 ounces of gold", which have been Bold at Singapore at £i 2a 64 per ounce. Hobabt, June 26. The Doric from London via the Cape, arrived here at three o'clock this afternoon, and sails again for Wellington at eight o'clock to-morrow morning. The Doric brings; 87 passengers for Australian ports, and 73 for New Zealand.
