It is reported here that General Grenfell is much disgusted at the rumored decision of the Imperial Government to withdraw from the Soudan, and that he will desist from further.pursuit of Osinan Digna. Dec. 26. _ The troops are grumbling at . the cessation of active operations. Dec. 27. Deserters from the> Arab ranks report that Osman Digna is preparing for flight into the interior. The local Sheikhs are gladly co-operating with British forces for an attack on Handpub.
