BOROUGH SCHOOL F.C. V, STARS.
The first contest for the ball to be presented by Mr Hay, the Secretary of the Dash-wood F.C. (lately disbanded), to be fought for by the three local junior Clubs, came off on Saturday last, m Seymour Square, between the Borough School representatives and the Stars. The toss was won by the School, who took the kick off, their antagonists having a. mild, breeze m their favpur, Jt .was a hard struggle, but the School suffered a defeat of a°goal and two tries (five points) to love. After the ball had been m play for about twenty minutes, the School were forced down, and later on Coward secured a try against them, but the kick at goal did not add to the score: A fair wind sprang up during the second spell, which gave the School a great advantage. In Imte of this, the Stars kept their opponent? m their confines, the School entering the Stars quarters but once. Jellyrnan obtained a second try. encountering a maul with Sinclair ere he scored. The conversion was vested m Coward, but was an unprolilio attempt. Just on the call of time, Bush (captain of the Stars) potted a neat poal. Allen ably commanded the Schoo .
