Wanoasui, Nov. 24. Mayoralty Election— Jsb. Laird 241, Nathan 123. This is the fifth time that Nathan has been defeated.

Wellington, Nov. 24. The election for Mayor created a good deal of ejccit9inent m town to-day and resulted m the return of Mr Samuel Brown, the woll-knowu contractor. The numbers wore— Saml. Brown 864, Geo. Fisher 645 ; mrjoiity for Brown 219.

Kumara, Nov. 24, Henry Burger wsb re-elected Mayor to-day for the third year m succession, the votes being Burger 77, Francis A. Olden, a Borough Counc llor, 22.

Westport, Nov. 24.

John Hughes was re-elected Mayor for the fourth time by a majority of 47 over J. Gay.

Hokitika, Nov. 24. Mr H. L. Michel was to-day elected Mayor of Hokitika.

Christchorch, Nov. 24. There was a close contest at the Oity Mayoral election to-day. The result was tbe return of the present Mayor, Mr A. Ayers,4y a majority of five, the numbers bsing Ayers 636, 0. Loissn 681.

For St. Albans the election was equally close, and resulted inth? re -election of Mr Ball.

IrVTTELTON, NOV. 21. Mr Harry Allwright was returned by a good majority.

Timabo, Nov. 24.

Moss Jonas was elected Mayor of Timaru to-day, beating John Jaokson, who has bean Mayor for foue years now. The voting was, for Jonas 121, Jackson 82.

Dunedin, Nov. 24. Mr R. H. Leary was elected Mayor of Dunedin, beating Carroll by a majority of 193. The voting was the heaviest ever -polled.

Carroll, the unsuccessful candidate for the Mayoralty, has announce! that he intends to take steps to upset the election on the ground that those whose names were placed on the supplementary roll were not allowed to vote.

The Mayoral election resulted m the eleotion of David Roche, who polled 309 as against 230 for J. R. M'Donald, the retiring Mayor.

Auckland, Nov. 25.

The Mayoral eleotion at Onehungi yesterday resulted m the re-election of: Dr Scott. The numbers were Scott 140, W. F. Wilson 63, Majority for Scott 77. The Newton Borough contest resulted m the eleotion of Mr Warnock, 188, P. Hastings 118. Majority for Warnock 70.
