Mr Barker got an uproarious encore for tha " Shamrock," and had to sing the last veree again. The audience at the back came m lustily with a chorus. Mi* Watson gave his recitation i so well, and was m such capital voice, | that his hearers insisted on his appearing , again. He gave a well known passage from Scott's " Lord of the Isles " Roth Mr Jackson and Mr Tilson Smith shono as comic vocalists, and should bo found highly useful at entertainments of this class. Mr Tilson Smith had his " Baby " ei-cored, whereupon he gave his old favorite, "lam so volatile." We never heard him to bettor advantage. Thc Chairman, ait the close of the ptogramme, thanked the performers and the audience for attending, and stated that, m consequence of tho Institute Conversazione m Ewart's Hall on the 21st, the next entertainment m the schoolroom would not be held till the 25th. Meantime, however, there was an entertainment ij tho Institute reading room on the 14 th whioh he urged i a'l present to attend.
