NOTIOE is hereby given that it is intended to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at the present Session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to he entitled " The Wairau Gaa Oompany (Limited) Act, 188 C," to authorise the said Company to purchase the Blenheim Gas Works, and to open and break up under the superintendence of tho Corporation of the Borough of Blenheim, the soil and pavements, streets and roads, within the Borough of Blenheim ; to. break up bridge-so wei a, drains or sewers ; and to erect pillars and lamps ; and to lay down and place pipos, conduits, servico pipes ; and to make and to do other worksnecassary or expedient for continuing to snpply and to extend the supply of gas to the Borough of Blenheim, and to make and construct other works for supplying and extending the supply of gas to the said Boronsjh. It is also intended by the said Bill to take powcr3 to the said Company to contract with the said Corporation or with any person or persona therein for supplying gas, or letting meters to them or any of thorn, and to enter upon buildings fo ascertain the quantities ofj gaa consumed, and sue fir tho recovery of rents for gas snpplied, and to cut off and take away the: supply of gas, and to enter npon buildings to take away gnspipes on non-payment of snch rents, and to impose penalties for the wilful destruction of the Company's property.
