THE ORIENTAL BANK.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR LIQUIDATION. [SPECIAL TO PBKS3 ASSOCIATION.] London, May 5. In the matter of the Oriental Bank, the Court insists that the corporation liquidates its affairs m EngloM only, and it is estimated that if the liquidation is continued depositors will not reoeive more than l?s 6d m the pound. It is believed the depositors will shortly receive an ad interim dividend of 10s m the pound. The first call upon the shareholders will, it is believed, be £15 per share, payable m three instalments. It is suggested that Mr MacEachern should represent the Australian oreditors. A committee, consisting of the largest oreditors and shareholders, will probably assist the liquidator and directors m accepting proposals to sell the Australian land and buildings of the corporation. The Freewell Ceylon Company have failed, owing the Oriental Bank half a million.
