The coat of a single round m the bombardment of Alexandria was figured np by the Pull Mall Gazette as follows :-
Eighty-seven guns .. £452 8 0 The Gazette very pertinently inquires, if this is the bill for a single round, what must it be for a day's bombardment ? And this is only one item of the vast outlay repaired to maintain an army and oonduot a campaign.
