An Alarming Disease Afflicting j a 'Numevmis Clses. The disease coiiimnnv s witli ;i slight deraugeiheut of the tsimicich, hut, if neglected, it m timo involves tho uholo frame, embracini; the kMneys, liver, pancreas, and, m. fact, the eutiio glandular system, and the afflicted one drags out a miserable existence until death gives relief from suffering. The disease is often, mistaken for other complaints, but; if the reader will ask himself the following questions, ho will he able to determine whether he himself is one of the 'afflicfeii :— Have; I distress, paio, or difficulty m breathing, alter eating ? Is; there a dull, heavy feelinp, attended by drowsitess ? Have the eyes a yellow tinge? Does a thick, sticky mucous gather about the gums and teeth m the morning, accompanied by a disagreeable taste ? Is the tongue coated ? Is there pain m the sides and back ? Is there a fullnoss about i tho right side as if the. liver were enlarging? Is there 'costiveneaa? Is there vertigo or dizziness when rising suddenly from an horizontal position ? Are the secretions from the kidneys scanty and highly colored, with a deposit after standing? Does food ferment soon after eating, accompanied by flatulence or a belching of gaß from the stomach? Is there frequent palpitation of the heart ? These various symptoms may not be present at one time, but they torment the snfferer m turn as the dreadful'diseaso progresses. If the oase be one of long standing long standing, there will be a dry, backing cough, attended after a time by expectoration. In very advanced stages the skiu assumes a dirty brownish appearance, and the bands and feet are covered by cold, sticky perspiration. Aa the liver and kidneys become more and more diseased, rhenmatic pains appear, and the uflnal treatment proves entirely unavailing against this latter agonising disorder. The origin of this malady is indigestion or dyspepsia, and a small quantity of the proper medicine will remove the disease if taken m its incipiency. It is most importune that the disease should be piomptly and properly treated m its first stages, when a little medicine will effect a cure, and even when it has obtained a strong hold the correct remedy thould be persevered m until every vestige of the disease is eradicated, until the appetite has returned, and the digestive organs are restored to a healthy conditiou. The anrest and moat effectual remedy for this distressing compla<nt is' " Siegsl's Curative Syrup," a vegetable preparation sold by all chemists and medicine vendors throughout the world, and by the proprietors, A, J. White, Limited, 2J. Farrington-road, London, or Kempthbrne, Prosser and Co's, New Zealand Drug Co.. Limited, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. This Syrup strikes at the very founds^ tion of the disease, and drives it, root and ; . branch, out of the system. ' Ask your chemist for Seigel's Curative Syrup. : ", Angus-street, dunes, Australia, . "May 17th, 1880. " Dear Sir,— lt is with great pleasnre that I bear testimony to the value of your excellent medicine. For some time. l had suffered with liver complaint and bilious uesß, after yellow jaundice set m, and I wbb very ill indeed for ovei twelve months. Daring that time I consulted several ined>cal men and took the medicine they prescribed without any benefit, and at last I began to despair of ever getting well again. However, I was induced to" try Mother Seigel's Curative Syrup, and after takiug the fifth bottle I began to get better. I continued taking it for some time, and now I feel better than I have dove for years. I send you this hoping that it may induce similarly afflicted persons to try your valuable remedy. I shall be very glad to answer 1 any questions, either personally or by : letter, m reference to tne syrup. . . . ' " C. Clarke." Seigel's Operating Pills, unlke many kinds of darthartit medicines, do not " make you feel worse before you feel better. Their 6peratibn- is gentle but thorough,' and unattended with disagreeable Beets, snch aas nausea, griping pain Ac DR. HEILBEON'S WORM_CAKES. rpHEBE Cakes ate principally prepared ,JL from. Herbs, and do not contain any dangerously active ingredients. They have a wonderful effect m coring ohildren as well as grown persons, by removing the wormß. They have been with great success intro- • duced into the principal families m Europe, Australia, and New. Zealand. They tire : guaranteed to do away m a very short i time with many serious complaints, like bronchitis, piles, ulcers,' ulcerated throats, etc, if taken m time, as these sicknesses are often caused by wormß of all kinds, especially the tape worm ; and by the most dangerous thread worm, which, if not de--1 stroyed m time, will aoon create the hardly , curable worm fever, Tha smalleatr-ithe thread worm— will, more 'than any other , worm, penetrate through the crevices of : , the body up to the brain. An example was recently witnessed, where a child fall ing continually into fits (the parents not knowing the cause) at last, died with the 'brain affected by the too-fatal thread worm. '■ Still more recently there was : a case— a grown man whose^eat was affected by the thread worm, and who, after trying many sorts of remedies without effect, was directly relieved by a dose of Dr Heilbron's Worm Cakes. 1 There are cases where the worms come away that they almost can be counted ; then often they come away m whole clots, 1 and sometimes m a thick and slimy stuff, And, although not so perceptible, still they are caused to leave by Dr Heilbron's ' Worm Cakes, And there have been often oases were children affected with Worms, when coughing or sneezing, do discharge them through the mouth and nose. The symptoms of Worms are generally as follows :— Lassitude, Giddiness, Depression of Spirits, - Impaired Appetite (which, if not acted against, will engender , diseases of the biie), Disorder of the Stomach and: Digestive Organs, Sick Headaoheß, Vomiting, Disturbed Sleep, and many more seriouß complaints,- including Fits, of which last many perBons have been cured by these WORM CAKES. No time should be lost m removing these worms, else the consequences . will be serious; as they will 1 increase m size, and quantity, and ultimately spread throughout the intestines. If Worms are neglected for a time they will do so much damage as to make it beyond human skill to restore , and reorganise the 'system o digestive organs. DIRECTIONS 1 FOR USE : The quantity of theße Worm Cakes to be taken at a dose depends mostly on the age and constitution of the patient. In most cases a couple of doses will drive the worms away for years, if not entirely. As a ' standard : A dose for a child up to two 1 years will be half a cake ; from two to four years old, one whole cake ; from four eight yearß, one cake and a half ; from eight to fourteen, two cakes; and so 1 increase with the age, but never m than four cakes at on« dose. Grown np males may generally take three cakes as ne dose, and grown men ourt cakes, according to constitution. The most effective way of using these Worm Cakes is by taking the dose before going to bed, and, on the following morning to take a cup of hot tea before breakfast.
