♦ . [united press association.] Ddsedin, Dec. 21. The banquet to Sir J. Yogel last night was a great success. 275 guests were present. Mr Macandrew proposed his health. Sir Julius, m replying, said the compliment was the greatest he had ever received^ He referred at length to bis past career m the colony, expressing regret at only being able now to make a brief at&y, but expressing the hope of re-visiting it. He disclaimed any tight to the title of " Father of the Public Works Policy," pointing oat what had been done by Mr MooAouse and others before him. He thought that if the original plan of setting aside land for railways had been carried out, the colony would now have been almost free from debt. He urged the completion of the trunk railways, and the resumption ef immigration.' '
