AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS.
The following are the agricultural statistics for the connties of The Sounds and Marlborough collected for the year ended March 31st last. We are indebted for them to the courtesy of Mr John White :
This Sounds District.— Holdings 53, extent of land broken np, but not undercrop, 31 ; m wheat— s acres, produce 115 bushels ; m oats for green food or hay— 7 acres ; m barley — 7 acres, produce 188 bushels j m hay— 7 acres; produce, 10 tons ; m grasses, after having been broken up, including fuoh as are m hay, 1874 acres ; grass-sown lands not previously ploughed, including saoh as are m hay, 370J acres; m potatoes— 2l acres, produce, 8 tons ; m garden or orchard 34} acres. Total number of acres under crop, 8,61...
County op Mahlboeouoh.— 34s holdings, -3708J acres brokeD up but not wider crop. Id wheat— 2,779 acres, producing 55,764 busrels ; m oats — for green food or hay, 1,186;| acres, forgraiD, 1,824 acres; estimated gross produce, 50,307 bushels; ia barley— 3,951^ acres, produce, 107,828 bushels; io hay— Bll J acres, produce, 1,081 £ tons. In grasses after ha;ing been broken up, including such as are m hay, 15, 199 i; grass-sown lands not previously ploughed, including such as are m nay, 30,467$ acres; m poatoes--295 acres, produce, 1.952J tons ; m rye or bare, 2p| acres; m peas or beans, 170 acres ; m turnips or rape, 212| aores ; m mangolds, beet, carrots, parsnips, or onions, 21| acres ; m garden or orchard, 210f acres. Total number of acres under crop, including sown grasses, 56,344J, In plantations or forest trees, 412| acres.
