In accordance with such predictions we have felt it our duty to make heavy purchases of that class of goods adapted to a COLD WINTER Season, such as BLANKETS, FLANNELS, &C. Owing to the depressed state of the Horae Markets, the Manufacturers have been obliged to sacrifice considerably in order to find a vent for their very heavy stocks. On account of the unusually good value to be obtained, our Dunedin Agent has taken advantage of the markets, and forwarded us about 35 CASES OF REALLY FIRST-CLASS DRAPERY Fully £5 per cent under last year’s prices. Furs and Fur Trimmings. Wool Shawls in warm durable qualities. ear Ladies will find it much to their advantage to pay us a personal visit, or if residing at too great a distance, every possible attention will be paid to orders received in forwarding samples, prices &c. This Department—one of the most important in the business—has occupied of late much of our time, in order that we may be able to supply our male customers with those goods exactly suited to their requirements. We have now a very beautiful lot of First-class Tweeds in plain and fancy stripes and checks, made up equal to those made to order, at one half the price. Men’s fashionable Coats, heavy colonial tweeds 12/6 a pair 4/- a pair under regular value. Also, Men’s Tweed Suits in Geelong, Mosgiel, &c. {ggT The Ulster Overcoat for Gent’s, still continues to be the leading garment for theforthcoming season. In connection with the Gent’s Department, we have all the etceteras necessary to complete their attire, such as Hosiery, Collars, Ties, Scarves, White Shirts from 4/6 each, Coloured Shirts in Wool, Crimean, and Oxford, with collars attached and detached, Umbrellas, Portmanteaus, Waterproofs.
