WAIHOPAI ACCOMMODATION HOUSE
Sir, — I beg to call your attention to the neglected state of the Waihopai Accommodation House Hill. On Friday, June 25, ou my passage down with the mail, when I arrived at the Waihopai River, I Found a young lady who had just left Sir David Monro's service, having tracked a cart into the river, thinkiug that I had passed. She was completely wet through, having no shelter, and had to wade two streams of the river on a sharp frosty morning. The lady meeting Mr Goff, who informed her I had not passed, she remained ou the river bed between the stre&ms, m her wet clothes for one hour and a half, until I came up, and then proceeded on her way to Blenheim, for her destination. — I am, &c,
War. Ockley, Mail Contractor. Wairau Valley, June 20, 1873.
