THE GREVILLE MEMOIRS.

Sir, — I find the following going the round of the Colonial press as an extract from a work published m London, under the above title : — " The Queen Adelaide came to Lady Bathurst's to see the rev'ew, and held a sort of drawing ioom, when the Ministers' wives were presented to her. She is very ugly, with a horrid complexion, but has good manners, and did all this, which she hated, very well. She said the part as rif she were acting and wanted the green curtain to drop." The statement, that she was "very ugly, with a horrid complexion" is grossly untrue. A few years before her death, I had the honor to be for several weeks m personal attendance on her late Majesty the Queen Dowager, and even at that time she was a very comely and pleasing woman. — I am, &c, Truth.
