A Taranaki Ironsand Company here is forming fast. The principal merchants have taken shares, and a large amount of the capital is subscribed. . Wanganui, Dec. 31. Mr Fox used his influence .to prevent the Hangitikei Justices from granting sale of liquor permits for the racecoiu*se. Great indignation. The Justices from Martou, Makoi, and Wauganui afterwards signed permits. Dunedin, Dec. 31. The Governor visited the Mosgiel TweedFactory. j Napier, Dec. 31. The ("hile has arrived from London with -H2 immigrants. Bluff, Doc. 31. ; Arrived: The Zealandia. from London, with 400 immigrants for Dunedin. Auckland, Dec. 31. All the single ■women per Agnes Muir arc engaged.
