Resident Magistrate's Court.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1872. [Before S. L. Muller, Esq., R.M.] The only business before the* Court was THE BOROUGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE V. MORAN, being an action to recover school fees alleged to be due from October, 18G9, >: to the present year, amounting to £7 4s 9d. — Mr C. J. W. Griffiths, as Collector, appeared on behalf of the Committee, and asked to amend the summons by adding £1 ss, omitted in the account. —Mr Rogers, who appeared for the defence, objected to such amendment, as had notice been given of such claim he would have had another witness in Court. —The Bench ruled that the objection was valid, as there was also a set-off put in by the defendant. His Worship decided that the attendance of the schoolmaster would be necessary, and the case was adjourned for a week, the question of the defendant being allowed his expenses, 10s., to be decided on the day of final judgment.
